This piece is part of a series called Divine Theophanies. All the pieces in this series are inspired by decorative marginal queues that are found in some classic Quran manuscripts. Other than adorning the margins of the text, these queues serve the purpose of helping the reader navigate through the text. The idea for each piece in the series was to serve as a compass navigating the soul of the beholder to the divine. Behmaz Karjoo's last solo show was “Immanence: Tazhib in America” at Twelve Gates Arts gallery in Philadelphia.
