One of the earliest forms of liberation is the mentioned hijab, khimar and jilbab in the Quran. When the woman became covered in the JahiliyAah times (time of ignorance) of old Arabia it not only made women feel protected from sexual harassment but also seen in a different way. A way that did not exhibit their body but instead truly showed them to be noble and deserving of respect in the way Allah has created them to be. It became a protest and a demonstration as evidence of their belief. This also should be recognized on a societal level today. A human being should not attain basic human rights due to their outer physicality but instead by just being human. This is significant in our current times. The black is uniform and mysterious. The white represents liberation, like those who wear the white cloth in the state of Ihram during pilgrimage to Mecca.
